Missionary Updates

We’re writing today with heavy hearts to inform you that we have been notified of three missionary deaths from the field. We ask that you take a moment to read the obituaries below and say a prayer for each of the families during this time.

LaVerne Morse
Beloved husband of Lois Morse (nee Elliott) for 63 years, loving father of Marcia (Kent) Odor, Mark (Jill) Morse, Cindy (Dale) Mizener, Beth Morse, Shirley Hudspeth, dear grandfather of 20, dear great-grandfather of 6, dear brother of Ruth Margaret Johnson, passed away on Tues, Aug. 2, 2016 in Mason, OH. He was born Jan. 4, 1929 to the late Justin Russell and Gertrude (Howe) Morse. He was a missionary, educator and founder of Asia Christian Services http://www.asiachristianservices.com. Pam Thompson
A Note From Leonard Thompson: 
Our Great and Loving and Merciful Lord in His wisdom and grace answered all our prayers and yours by transitioning my loving wife, Pam from her bed of painful illness to the realms of Glory. At about 6.00 a.m. she passed away while I was at her side and soon surrounded by both daughters and son-in-law and the grand kids. See you in the morning Pam.

Pam passed away Friday, August 12th, 2016.

Martha Hayes
Martha Elba Hayes, Wayne’s widow, went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2016. She and Wayne were the leaders of the mission and served since 1953. Wayne went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2011, and Martha Elba continued with the work. She had been battling COPD, the result of a lung injury, for a few years. She was 82 years old.
 
The Hayes family has had a long relationship with Walter Birney, as Walter was one of the groomsmen when Wayne and Martha Elba were married. It is so special to belong to the family of God!
