And Then There Were Five…
That’s right, EDCM now has five church plants in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic. For several years now we have been mentoring two Haitian churches near our church plant in Higuey. We have helped train their leaders and helped them form a good vision for their churches. On Sunday night, April 10
th, the Anamuya Christian Church and the Otra Banda Christian Church officially became part of EDCM Ministries. Praise God! These congregations are Haitian churches offering services in Creole, the native tongue of Haitians.
Also on April 10
, we held a joint worship service where our five church plants came together to worship Jesus as One Body, One Church. We gathered in the La Romana Church auditorium, which was packed from front to back, top to bottom, including the balcony which we have never used before. It was an awesome night of worship as we communicated that in the Christian Church we are…
One body, one church
Equal
We are all children of God, no matter the skin color
We worship the head, Jesus Christ
We are the Body of Christ!

VandeLinde Furlough
Beginning in July 2016, the VandeLinde family will be taking a one year furlough. After being on the mission field full-time for 7 1/2 years, we have decided to take this time to return to the United States in order to accomplish the following goals:
Rest and Renewal
Reconnect
Report
Refocus
God has been very good to us and has blessed us tremendously here in the DR. We have worked very hard and the mission is really moving in the right direction. Therefore, we feel that this is a good time for us to take a furlough and after one year return to the DR re-energized, re-focused, and with a good clear vision for the future.
During our furlough, we will be living in Virginia, but plan to return to the DR several times during the year. We also would love to visit your church to share what God has been doing through EDCM. Please contact me if you would like us to visit.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me personally.

Micah’s Minute
Tainos! Recently, I had the chance to dress up like a Taino Indian, the native indians of the Domincian Republic. Unfortunately, there are no more Taino Indians in the DR….or at least there weren’t…until now!
Look at us! We look like real Taino Indians! I had a fun weekend with my friends camping at Isla Saona and acting like we were Tainos.
