Hello Prayer partners – and I will include our newsletter readers as well!
Tonight the time changes in the US.
Of course, the times they are a changing all the time.
Time for a brief update to our prayer partners.
Each point is a matter for praise, or prayer or both. Thanks!
- LaVerne’s leg broke Jan 5, repaired with a rod Jan 8, healing well.
- Some drainage yet from where the ankle fusion plate and seven screws had to be removed.
- She should still use the walker but habitually abandons it.
- A tibia fracture takes months to heal, but she does have new bone growing already.
- Keep praying, please.
- Summit Christian College (NE) has spring break this coming week. Just graded mid-term exams (Intro to Missions and Cultural Anthropology, online with students in Nebraska and one in Kauai).
- CIU Center, the House on the Hill – still looking for a buyer but the market in Crimea is absolutely flat.
- The person interested last year allegedly is still interested but has not made a deposit. I think he hopes that we will drop the price more than we have.
- Five years ago March the 11th we closed on the Center.
- Travel to Crimea. Whenever we have a closing on the Center, I plan to do that myself though one of our staff has my POA to do that if I cannot be there for that.
- Actual receiving of the payment only comes once the transfer of ownership is complete.
- Unless we get a buyer who can transfer funds from someplace other than Crimea (which sanctions forbids), I will have to make another trip.
- So, have been keeping my options open for a trip to Crimea but thought it would have been by now.
- Bible Translation vision in Ukraine – several ministries are working together to promote national Bible Translation ministry in Eurasia, including Pioneer Bible Translators.
- National translators are already working among the Roma (“Gypsies”) in East Europe. The Ukrainian Evangelical Seminary has asked me to assist them with encouraging their students with lectures and stories.
- New classes for Ukraine. I am working on new presentations related to mission(s) for April (17-22).
- Teaching schedule for the next academic year. I am starting to plan the next school year. September 7-16 I will teach near Kiev.
- I have not confirmed a date for May seminars in Berlin. This has been postponed many times already.
- Our outreach in and via Crimea continues.
- To residents at the House on the Hill, mostly with special events, English classes, and Natalka’s spiritual talks and mentoring.
- Natalka continues to minister in university student camps – just now in France with Russian speaking guests of Ben Beckner and Français sans Frontières.
- Nastya (Anastasia) was due to be in a children’s camp planning and mentoring meeting this month in Ukraine, but it was canceled.
- Traveling in the US for two weeks (March 23-April 6). We will be in upper East TN, including Easter weekend with our long term supporting church, Hammons Chapel Christian Church.
- They have supported us on every field: East Europe, Papua New Guinea, and Ukraine/Crimea.
- Helping our CIU grads in ministry. Helping Ukraine.
- I mentioned a CIU graduate, Fat’ma, who wants to get an advanced degree in apologetics. She will wait till she finishes one more year studying apologetics in Ukraine.
- Yevginy Ustinovych is on his last chapter for his doctoral dissertation. It is not the only thing he is doing. Pray for him and Katya as they multitask major projects.
- Natasha and Mulberry International. Natasha continues to do a great work among Ukrainians who are near the front lines of the war zone in East Ukraine. Please read about her work in her newsletter which I am forwarding with this update. Most of my readers are not TMI donors except maybe through your church. You are family, friends, friends of friends and others who follow our ministry and pray for it – I especially encourage you to make a donation. You can do it here and read more about that ministry as well.
Thank you for your prayers! Thank you for your gifts. Thank you for our partnership in the gospel.
